Opus advised Estover Energy Limited on the financing of its third biomass combined heat and power plant located near Sandwich in Kent.

The plant has a capacity of 28MW and provides heat and power to Discovery Park, one of the UK’s leading science parks, as well as exporting electricity to the national grid. The plant cost approximately £160m to construct and was funded by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and BWSC.

Opus previously advised Estover in relation to financing its plants at Speyside and Cramlington with John Laing and the Green Investment Bank.
