Opus is pleased to have advised Pulse Clean Energy on securing a £52.5 million financing from NORD/LB for its Upper Boat synchronous condenser project in South Wales.
The Upper Boat project forms part of NESO’s Pathfinder 3 programme and is currently under construction, with the first energisation expected by late 2026. Synchronous condensers are playing an increasingly important role in maintaining grid stability and the resilience of the UK’s power system.
Since pioneering UK BESS funding in 2019, Opus has now concluded over €1bn of financing transactions. This deal extends Opus’ deep battery storage and grid infrastructure expertise, which now spans assets, software and long duration storage.
